Some pertinent Scriptures - at the turn of a millennium...

'For a thousand years in thy sight as but as yesterday when it is past ...' Psa. 90:40

'The heavens and the earth, . reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.  Be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.'  2 Pet. 3:8

'The habitable world which is to come:' Heb. 1:5

'Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment, and with justice .' Isa. 9:7

'The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock.' Isa. 65:25

'. and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.' Rev. 20:4

With the turn of the year before us many people are using the word Millennium, but, it seems, without a single thought about God's plans for this sad world. A new world is coming, but it will be inaugurated by Christ Jesus and not by political means. These few verses are given above as a simple voice to stir the affections of Christians. They disclose to faith what God will soon inaugurate in His own time after the Lord Jesus has come to take all redeemed to God to His Father's house above.

Our prayer is that the Lord will sustain in your hearts the prospect of His soon return and that you will not be shaken by the vagaries of human opinions and false expectations.
